Ndolo, Zambia, Dag Hammarskjold, DC-6 - September 18, 1961. No pictures available of the crash site. This crash was held under a
cloud of secrecy. Allegedly Rooi Rus, a South African mercenary executed Dag who survived the crash. There are a number of theories concerning what happened to this flight and whether or not it was a simple crash, shootdown or execution.

The Rietbok, Vickers 818 - March 13, 1967 No pictures available of the crash site as it occurred over water and again their was great suspicion about this crash as one of its passengers was Professor Bruwer.
The Pretoria, Boeing 707, April 20, 1968. Fortunately pictures are available.
Samora Machel, Tupolev 134A - October 19, 1986. Very few pictures available of the crash site, but I found a few. This crash was held under a cloud of secrecy also. Allegedly a false beacon was deployed to take the Tupolev 134a off course so that it would crash in South Africa, giving the SA government control over the investigation.
ZS-SAS, The Helderberg, SA-295 - November 28, 1987 Very few pictures available of the crash site, see other pages. This crash was held under a cloud of secrecy also and disappeared into the ocean NE of Mauritius.
